The color of blonde beers can vary a lot, between very pale straw colors and a golden blonde. Founded in 1871, Duvel of Belgium produces the most popular of blonde beers. Leffe Blonde is another brand of beer which is most popular in Belgium and France. Like many old European beers, Leffe Blonde was first brewed by monks of the Leffe Abbey until the French Revolution. Today they are produced by Stella Artois at the Leuven brewery. It has a distinct, slightly almond taste. A major difference between lager beers like Caffrey, OB, etc., and traditional ales and blonde beers is the alcohol content. Generally, lager beers and ales have an alcohol content of around 4.5% whereas blonde beers have a much higher content.

The Fat Duck restaurant in England is famous for its unconventional dishes prepared to the standards of gastronomy. You can find dishes like bacon and egg ice cream, salmon cooked with liquorice, snail porridge, and sardine on toast sorbet. The restaurant applies psychology when it plays with the guests’ perceptions, expectations and senses. Take for example the Jelly of Orange and Beetroot. The red beetroot part of the jelly is actually made from blood oranges, whereas the orange colored part of the orange is actually made from paprika beetroots. Lime Grove is another unusual dish. Lime mousse is frozen in a bucket with –320 °F liquid nitrogen, put on a plate and sprinkled with green tea powder, as scent is vaporized in the air. The rapidly dissolving sour ball feels incredibly cold on your tongue, and it is so delicate that it seems like you are eating nothing at all and you are eating only flavor. Even smoke may come out of your nose. It is disturbingly refreshing.
